The lacquer that has been used on our product is the very best quality we can source. When fitted internally and maintained with a coat of household bees wax, the life of these finishes are greatly extended. It should, however, be kept in mind that however good the lacquer is and how well it is applied, it remains only a thin coat of protective material and will eventually break down. If cleaning is required, we suggest only non-acidic soap. Do not use abrasive or chemical cleaners.

When fitted externally, the atmosphere will inevitably attack the lacquer, at this point some degree of “white rust” may form which is a result of the base material reacting to the atmosphere. This is a natural process and is not harmful to you or the product; it can be wiped off with warm water and a soft cloth. Eventually a point will come when the product will require re-plating.

The lifespan of the lacquer is beyond the control of the manufacturer and cannot be guaranteed.
