Press Up Industries are wholesalers and retailers of furniture handles, knobs, brass casters, hinges, ironmongery and door handles. Our hardware range includes antique, Victorian, Edwardian, French, crystal/glass and porcelain handles and knobs for kitchen cabinets, cupboards, doors and other furniture items plus sanitary ware and bathroom accessories.
Press Up Industries has had a change of management since the original Director’s retirement. Still, the same small, friendly team has been together for many years and is always willing to help customers find the best solution for their home decor needs.
Most of our items are locally made at our factory here in Cape Town; we only import around 20% of our products. Our products are manufactured mainly of die-cast or spin-cast zinc alloy, pressed strip steel or brass, and electroplated in-house to a variety of beautiful finishes (Antique Brass, Antique Pewter, Matte Nickel and more). We have also developed a distressed white finish called “Antique White”, and a durable, applied “Rust” look finish, proving popular with our customers. Three textured, hand-applied but durable finishes, Bronze, Silver and Sandalwood, have also been added to our collection.
Our two most popular ranges of door furnishings are La Collection de Provence, a French-styled range of door hardware combining traditional French elegance with sturdy functionality; and The Sparrow Range offering an appealing look well suited to large, solid wood front doors.
Sanitary ware is a more recent addition to our product line with a range of decorative and functional taps, bath and basin spouts and shower roses, all manufactured to the same high standards, providing style and durability.
We supply our handles to furniture restorers, kitchen cupboard manufacturers and installers, door manufacturers, large retail outlets, specialist decorative hardware stores and DIY enthusiasts. Our customer base stretches across South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia . We have the capacity to supply large, bulk-packed quantities or smaller volumes quickly and efficiently.
Our business has been driven from the start by our customers’ needs and we can tailor make products to your requirements. We work mostly in metal, frequently zinc alloy, mild steel and stainless steel. We can work from a sample supplied by you or we can make the product from scratch. We can also change the colour of some items depending on the base material.
